SPHIRO™ SS are pharmaceutical-grade spherical starter pellets manufactured from sucrose and starch. They are designed primarily as starter cores for active-ingredient layering and functional coating in multiparticulate oral solid dosage forms.

Their spherical geometry, smooth surface characteristics and controlled particle size distribution provide a consistent substrate for coating and layering operations using conventional fluid-bed processing technologies.

SPHIRO™ SS are available in multiple particle size grades to support formulation development, process optimization, scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
